Presented to you by the inventor, pioneer and “Modfather” himself, Steve Haworth.
Certification – You will receive a certificate of attendance for your participation in this course.
Background – You will be discovering the know-how first hand from Steve Haworth, the creator of this art form. Steve has a background in medical device design, implant design, medical instrument manufacturing, and implant manufacturing. In 1991 Steve Began his piercing career, opening his own piercing shops spanning from Austin, Texas to Long Beach California. By 1992 he was traveling the tattoo convention circuit heavily, desiring to both pierce and educate, and eventually helping to proliferate and popularize body piercing in a society that, at that time, was only accepted it in New York and California. In early 1994, Steve set his feet on the path to performing body modification on a larger scale. For ten years, Steve bore the stigma of being called a heretic by his peers in the piercing field, but worked diligently at proving to the art communities of the world that sculpting in flesh is a legitimate art form. Steve paved the way for what we have available to us today.
Steve is credited with the beginnings of transdermals, surface to surface piercing, magnetic implants, ear pointing, shaped ear punches, and laser (ECU) branding, as well as 3D body art including (but not limited to) stainless steel, ptfe (Teflon), and long term implant grade silicone implants. Other advancements in tongue splitting, transcrotals and genital beading can also be attributed to Steve and his personal knowledge, background, and drive to advance the body modification community. He is the largest producer of non-medical silicone implants in the world. In keeping with his medical device background, Steve has also designed and manufactured a series of tools specifically for this art form in order to maximize the artist’s effectiveness while inducing the least amount of trauma.
Steve Haworth is constantly busy creating new silicone designs, many other forms of body modification, traveling the world sculpting flesh, and sharing his wealth of knowledge with others. His love of 3D Body art, our abilities to decorate our own canvases, and the members of the body modification community has helped Steve lay a foundation in which we can all build upon in our own unique ways. In this course you have the opportunity to indulge in much of that information and pick the brain of the man who started it all.
