Steve Truitt has been piercing professionally since 1995. Beginning in Albuquerque, NM, he has worked at many studios nationwide. In 2004, he opened Stay Gold with partners Leo Gonzales, Dan-O Sanchez, & Mike Giant. In 2009, Steve went out on his own and left Stay Gold to open Ascension Body Modification. Steve’s been a member of the Association of Professional Piercers since 2006. He has been performing many other forms of body modifications for over 10 years, including scarification, branding, subdermal and transdermal implants, tongue splitting, ear pointing and reconstruction, and more. In 2000, he founded the Ascension Suspension Team and has performed at venues all over the states, tattoo conventions & other events the world over. Steve has been featured in movies & TV: The Flock, Gamer, & Breaking Bad and several National Geographic & Discovery Channel documentaries on body modification such as Taboo: Bizarre Bodies, and recently on Modifiche Del Corpo – Mistero in Italy. Steve currently offers piercing & scarification along with suspension at his shop in Albuquerque, regularly travels the world doing other forms of modifications, speaking at body mod and suspension related events, and teaching seminars.
