Progressive Piercing Seminar: Ear projects and advanced cartilage fundamentals
This year’s course skips some beginner information and jumps into advanced piercing techniques for experienced body piercers. We will build on the basic concepts featured in previous year’s classes and focus on how to achieve the fancy cartilage piercings so popular in today’s industry.
Join Association of Professional Piercers member Ryan Ouellette as he discusses and demonstrates the techniques used to select jewelry and placement, how to mark sets of piercings accurately, and how to perform precise cartilage piercings and sets of piercings. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions and interact with the instructor and models to get the most out of their educational experience. Live piercing will be used to illustrate techniques wherever possible.
Topics covered will include: needle bevel theory to lessen cartilage trauma, marking techniques used to increase accuracy, selecting tools or improvised freehand techniques, jewelry selection theory for ease of healing, understanding the limitations of elaborate options, aftercare principals, and more. Piercings covered will include: daith, faux-rook, custom industrials, the triple forward helix, and more.
